ACIS(S) Training Course for Education Consulting Service/ International Student Recruiting Agents

The aim of the new training programme aims to develop knowledge of the following:
  • The Singapore education system; courses and qualifications at each level.
  • The attractions for students considering studying and living in Singapore.
  • Quality assurance mechanisms and how they operate.
  • Student lifestyle issues - living costs, travel and accommodation.
  • Course fees and scholarships.
  • Welfare and support provided for international students in Singapore.
  • Singapore Immigration Checkpoints Authority (ICA) application procedures and standard entry requirements; visa and immigration regulations.
In conjunction with other information resources developed by the ACIS(S), the course will serve as a continuous source of support and professional knowledge updating. As such, obtaining this qualification will represent a valued and recognised professional achievement.

ACIS(S) Training Session for Consulting Service/International Student Recruiting Agents
For
International Students seeking Education in Singapore

The training session will cover 5 modules:
  1. The 1st module consists of two parts. Module 1A will be on ACIS(S)
    How and why ACIS(S) was formed, its vision, mission, objectives and goals, its organisational structure, types of membership, and benefits the Association will attempt to generate for members. Module 1B will be on ACIS(S) Code of Practice - a set of business practices governing our members in conducting their business; what can do and what must not do.
  2. Module 2 will be on Singapore education
    Briefly examine how our education has evolved, how we should our current education system, how we should promote Singapore education, the Government's main stream schools, polytechnics and universities, school fees, AEIS test requirements and application procedures, QTs, international schools and their systems, school fees, placement tests, fee structures, PEIs etc.
  3. Module 3 will be on the Council for Private Education (CPE)
    Brief introduction on the Private Education Act, ERF, EduTrust, how to advise internationals students and/or their parents on which PEIs to choose with reference to ERF and EduTrust.
  4. Module 4 will be on ICA
    Student Pass (SP) eligibilty, criteria and requirements, application procedures for inetrantional students intending to study in kindergartens, Government's mainstream schools, ITEs, polytechnics, universities, international schools, EduTrusted PEIs, Fees, loss of SP, Change of Address etc.
  5. Cost of Living and Accommodations
    Covering most aspects of cost of living and studying in Singapore, types of accommodation available and their range of fee etc.
